Semester Final Exam Part 2 and 3

Part 2
This man that is riding the horse ,we will just call him Bob for now . Anyways i think that what happen in this photo is that to me it looks like Bob is a solider and right now he is in the middle of a war. It look to me like this happen some where near a building i mean from the looks of the photos background. I think that maybe this happen a while back my reason to believe this is that by the looks of his uniform he was a solider in the old days.

This man that is on fire in this picture lets just call him John. Any who i think that what happen here is that john was i guess doing something so distracting that for some reason he did not know that he was close to a fire and just like that he was on fire. I believe that where he lives at they had a little celebration and this got a little carried away. I think this happen on a special day like it was so special that the whole little town was their. i think this happen  some where in the center of their town.

Well by the looks of this photo i think that the person in that vehicle is a man so i will just call him Edward. It look to me that Edward did not  know this was going to happen to him. I think that what happen to him was that he was in his vehicle all alone and then out of no where a van passed by and started to shoot at him and this is how he ended up dead in his vehicle all alone .I think this happen some where in the streets out of no where. It looks to me like he didn't expect this to happen so i would say it happen on a normal day.

 Part 3

This would be Rule of thirds ,why? you may ask. Well you see if you cut the photo into 3 lines horizontally and another 3 lines vertically. Then you could see that the clock is only in touching two of the middle points that the lines make. Therefore this makes this photo apply to the Rule of thirds.

this photo would be leading lines ,why?  you may ask again will its simple. Let me explain you see the first thing that i looked at was the lines. As you can see if you look at the lines it only makes you want to follow the lines until you look at the main object. Therefore it is proved that it is leading lines.

This is Balancing elements i believe that to this photo balancing elements apply to it because in both of the sides in this photo it is balanced. You see in both sides are people which only makes it balanced. Therefore i am right it does have balancing elements.

The reason i think this is symmetry and patterns is because of the leaves. As you can see the leaves are just repeating them selves. This is why i think that this photo apply to symmetry and patterns. It just means that their has to be an object reapeating its self over and over again.

Semester Final Exam Review

1. Rule of thirds- this means that you cut your photo in 9 squares and your main object of the photo is not in the middle
2. Balancing Elements- this means that your photos have to b balanced
3. Leading Lines- this means that in the photo their has to be lines that that lead your eyes to the main object of the photo you are looking at
4. Symmetry and Patterns (repetition)- this means that in the picture that you are looking at their is repetition as in more of the same object
5. Viewpoint-is defined as the angle, direction or stance from which you choose to shoot each image.
6. Background- this means that the back of the photo is simple so the human eye only focuses on the main object of the photo
7. Create depth-is when you add more objects at the background
8. Framing- is when you see a picture that has an actual frame inside the picture for example if their is a picture with a person in a door frame that's framing
9. Cropping-is when in the photo their is only one important focused and the rest of the background is less noise
10. Mergers and avoiding them- this happens when tow things come together.

Self Portraits and Portraits Preview

 TIPS

Tip #5: Capture You

My last tip is to use the images below only loosely as inspiration. A self-portrait should be a very personal expression, not simply a mirror of something you've seen elsewhere. Think about who you want to be and how you want to say that. Use props, scenery, pose and lighting conditions to convey your personality. And most of all, have fun!

Tip #2: Try Standing By a Corner

As an alternative to standing in the middle of nowhere, you might want to actually use a building or wall in your shot. In this circumstance your first instinct is to focus on the wall, but that might not work too well depending on your depth-of-field.
One trick that I discovered is to stand next to the end of a wall or at a corner. This way you can position yourself even with the wall and achieve a solid focus. So if you focus on the wall, then stand next to rather than in front of it, your focus should be much better.

Tip #3: Use Both Auto and Manual Focus

A good practice to get into when you're taking self-portraits is to use a mix of auto and manual focus. First, focus on your stand-in object using auto focus. Then, with the object still in focus, switch your lens to manual focus.
This will give you the freedom to tweak settings, re-meter for changing light and anything else you need to all without screwing up your established point of focus. Just make sure you stand perfectly on your mark each time you take a photo.

Environmental Portrait
i liked this picture because i really like horses and i like to watch how they get trained.

i also liked this photo because i really like how they both came out its so natural and calming

Casual Portrait

i liked this photo because of how thy show their actual love for each other
i like this photo because of how they show their real friendship

 Formal Portrait
i really like how they came out in this photo so formal
i really liked how they came out in this to because of their formality

The Three Pillars of Exposure: Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed

Aperture

Photo taken at F2.8

Photo taken at F16

1. What part of the body should we closely relate aperture?
i think that the body we should closely relate aperture is the part that controls the aperture.
 2. Finish this sentence - the smaller the Aperture large f-number, the higher the Aperture small f-number.
3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field?
aperture impacts Depth of Field by the f-number which means the larger the f-number is the more blurry the background would be. if the f-number is smaller then it will be less of the blurry in the background and the more sharp edges their will be.
Shutter speed
High shutter speed

Low shutter speed
1. If you were assigned to shoot at Blue and Gold night, which was earlier this month, what shutter speeds (slow, medium, fast)  do you think you would have to shoot at the following events that night I would like you to answer the question for the following two situations:
At the beginning while the sun is still partially up and the courtyard has reasonable light

a.) the dunking booth- i would choose fast

b.) the food eating contest-i would choose fast

c.) the rock climbing wall-i would choose fast

d.) someone working at a booth- i would choose medium

e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle- i would choose slow
f.) the Diamonds performance.- i would choose medium

Towards the end when there is no sun and it is dark so there is not enough light to see from one end of the courtyard to the other.

a.) the dunking booth- i would choose fast

b.) the food eating contest- i would choose fast

c.) the rock climbing wall- i would choose medium

d.) someone working at a booth- i would choose medium

e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle- i would choose slow

f.) the Diamonds performance- i would choose slow

2. List the THREE settings your camera has regarding setting shutter speed (these are found at #5 on the Shutter Speed website. Explain how each works - DO NOT COPY AND PASTE, use your own words.
Auto Mode- is when shutter speed and aperture are automatically selected by the camera
Shutter Priority- is when shutter speed and the camera automatically selects the aperture.
Manual- is when where you set both shutter speed and aperture manually.

  ISO

 Photo taken at ISO 200

Photo taken at ISO 3200

1. What are the advantages of shooting with a higher ISO setting at a sporting event like a night football game?
while a higher ISO number increases the sensitivity of your camera. This meaning that you would be able to get a better look at the football game better.
2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO?
when using low ISO you cant always get a good picture .
 3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO?
When using high ISO you would be able to get a good photo specially in the light

Now its your turn - tell me which ones look the best for:
  • F4- you cant see the background because of how blurry it is
  • F5.6- you still cant see the background that good
  • F8-you can see the background better but its getting dark
  • F11- you can see the background but the photo is really dark
  • F16 - same here its getting to dark
  • F22-now you cant see the photo at all
